The total organic carbon analyzer system measures the amount of initial inorganic carbon contained in the water, oxidizes all organic to the CO 2 (inorganic carbon) form, and then measures the final concentration of CO².
There are TOC sensors and TOC analyzers. The key difference between them is that some TOC sensors only partially oxidize the organic to CO2, while other sensors and analyzers completely oxidize organic matter to CO² for a more reliable result.
The total carbon analyzer is more accurate and commonly used for product quality measurement, management decisions, release of control reports and real-time measurements.
